Public Hearing Notice 4/10/23

The Indian Education Program will be having a Public Hearing on April 10th at 6:45 PM.  This meeting is to gather feedback from community members about the Federal Title VI budget and to plan for next year.


The meeting will be held at the NPS Administration Building, 101 N. Main, Newcastle.

TITLE VI AND JOHNSON O'MALLEY

For a child to receive services in the Title VI Program, a parent must complete and sign a Student Eligibility Form (506).  This program has no specification for blood quantum, but the child must be of Indian descent and meet criteria described on the 506 form to be eligible for the program.

To be eligible for services in the Johnson O'Malley Program, a student must be enrolled (or eligible for enrollment) with a tribe or be 1/4 blood decree descendent of a tribal member of a federally recognized tribe and have tribal membership documentation.
