Not only do students sing a variety of music in choir. students also learn musicianship skills such as reading and analyzing music, proper vocal technique, and performance skills. Choir (and other music electives) has been shown to help students in their social-emotional learning by helping them form meaningful relationships and learning life skills such as self-discipline, time management, and responsibility. Music performance teaches students to overcome anxiety and take risks. Previous participation in choir is not required!
